He united with the Methodist Church, December 4, 1914, and was faithful there to the end. He used his talents ably and willingly and especially liberal with his voice. He enjoyed singing. He and Guy Johnson,, W. W. Western and Riley Bales were widely known as the Purdin Male Quartet.
