He exclaimed that we are too much in a hurry and that was the trouble with the country then.He wanted them to stay until the stars came out and exclaimed that millions of miles away in space are other systems to which we and out entire solar system are only an indistinct milky way. Wars and strifes and catastrophes here have never ever rated a fleeting notice from other worlds as large as ours, he insisted.According to Bill Hunt, Mr. Slider had a few faithful visitors who made it to a point to see him several times dunng the summer. One of these was Associate JudgeWalter C. Capper of the Circuit Court.Slider said he didn’t want any music, preaching or flowers when he died.Mr. Slider told Bill Hunt that sometimes he read things that he would like to talk over with someone.
