Riley PTAThe regular meeting of theRiley P.T.A. met at the schoolTuesday evening with Mr.Howard Reitenour presiding.Devotions were given by Mr.Richard Ingels. Dr. RobertDalton, Asst. Supt. of Schools, spoke to the Unit on the following three point program: I-What does the school expectof the child?, n-What must the parent and child do to meetthese expectations?, and HI-startimportantgoodness of learning?Thegroup joined incommunity singingtheStan Freed,accompanied by Mrs. BessieLippold. Mrs. Barbara Underwoodpresented summer readingcertificates to twelve studentswho completed the summerreading program of ten books:Nadine Arnett, Randy Dinius,Kim Greggory, Ronald Huffman,HuffmanScott Killings, Teresa Killings,Deborah Martin, Cathy Payne, Patty Ward, and also MolliebooksMr. Joe Mathias, principal,introduced the teaching staffstating that five members of the Riley Staff are attending the workshop for elementary teachers on Modern Math. Mr.RichardThompson announced thereand noodledinner30 until7:30, adults 75 cents, children 50 cents,bepurchased at the door. There will also be a bazaar and sweetshop.The next meeting will beNov. 10 at 7:00 p.m. and willbe an open-house. Parents areurged to attend this meetingand visit the rooms of theirchildren.
