With the seating capacity of the new grand stand doubling the number of spectators that can be accomodated there were still plenty seats, available at show time. Spectators were treated to one of the fastest, wildest and roughest rodeos that has ever been pulledbehind the walls. The stock, from roping calves to Brahman bulls and broncs, is in top shape and a-bout as rough as can be foundanywhere. Convict riders met with little success in trying to stay aboard the hurricane deck of the raging and twisting bulls and bucking broncs.Only one rider, John Posey, serving two years from New Braunfels was able to stav with his bull till the whistle blew. The crowds got more than enough thrills when failed riders were charged and sometimes trampled by the infuriated beastswhich had only seconds before, dislodged them from their seats. The clowns, whose job it is to protect fallen riders, were about the busiest men in the arena.Their daring and often comical ways of outsmarting the enragedbulls brought screams from theaudience one moment and roaring laughter the next.Outside paid performers, who are not inmates of the prison, included such world famous personalities as Buck Brady doing trick and fancy riding and Cecil Cyrnish, with a trained brahman bull and his two perfectly matched trained horses. A professional Quadrille team from Ft. Worth drew loud applause for their spectacular performance. The Rodeo will be staged each Sunday afternoon at two during October. With the vast number of seats available makes a sellout pretty hard to accomplish, it is, however, advisable to write to the Texas Prison System at Huntsville and get tickets before the show, thereby assuring yourself of a good seat.]
