Death of an Old Citizen.Mrs. JEliza Lee, an old and well-known citizen of this city, died at the home of her Bon-imlaw, Mr. C. R. Griffin, at 2 o’clock Sunday morning, after a long and painful illness.Mrs. Lee was bom in Bulloch county, Ga., in 1820. For quite a number of years she hu lired with her children in ThomasriUe, - and she had many friends and acquaintances here. For the last forty years she has been a consistent member of the Missionary Baptist church, living at all times the life of a true Christian. She was truly a good woman and none knew her but to love her. Often during her last illness have we heard her spoken of in terms of the highest praise by those who knew her, and her death caused a general feeling of sadness in the oommunity. She leaves five children, tip sons and three daughters, Mr. J. W. Lee, of this city, Mr. B. G. Lee, of Quitman,Mrs. C. R. Griffin, of this city, and Mrs. McMullen and MnuBaysor of, Brooks county.The funeral servioes were held at the home of Mr. Griffin at one o’clock Sunday afternoon by Dr.J.A.Thomp-son, and the remains were taken to Dixie on the two o’clock train. The interment took place in the burying near Grooveryille, the servioes at the grave being conducted by Kev. J. M. Rusbin.A good womanjhia gone to her reward. The bereaved relatives of the deceased have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their sffliction.
