Interesting Program On Pan American Music Giveni■■In keeping with the trend of national events members of the Music Study Club opened their first study program with a lesson on Pan American Music Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Jeff Gilbreath. Other proprograms featuring Pan American music and International music will follow.Mrs C. C Acker, leader explained the purpose of the study; of Pan American Music at this! time and told something of the type of music, the composers arid , their influence on the music of other countries. She stressed the thought that we may have to read about wars and strife but that we live, breathe, eat and sleep to music every day, and if ever in the history of the nation we have needed the uplifting influence of good music, we need it more today To illustrate Pan American Music, Mrs T W Roberson and Miss Mattie Mac Swisher sang “Manana por la Manana” lt;Grev-er* m costume with Mrs Roberson accompanying 011 the guitar and Mrs Gilbreath at the piano •Jurame” b- Hartman-Grev-or was presented by Mrs. A C. Thompson on her violin.“Under the Silver Stars” (Cuban) was sung by a sextette composed of Mesdames S P. Ros-son, H. K Fox. J. C. McCracken J B Jones, W E. Dameron and H L Broad wellThe concluding number was given by Mrs Carl Mount: who sang Into the Night.” by Edwards, an American composer.
