Ot 1835.Jack Frost has marie his appearance.Ourpnblic school is progressing finely.Farmers are preparing for corn gathering.Alex Mellis has a pair of very sore hands.The yield of potatoes is very large this pear.John Justice is taking in the 3ights at Shel-ville to-day.Arthur Ivinslej is at Hartsvillc with his sister, very sick.Hill Bodine’s knitting factory at Morristown still hangs lire.J. Or. Wolf, of the Morristowu mills, called on U3 this week.Mellis’ roller mill will be ready for business about the I6th inst.Fishing was not so good last Sunday, as I. F. Hankins will testify.Two or three gentlemen are contemplating going fishing Sunday.Farmers are complaining of the grasshoppers eating their wheat.Arthur Kinsley’s sister, at Hartsville, is still lying at the point of death.Charley Flynn has been under the weather for a day or two, but is better.High Justice mashed his finger very badly while loading lumber the other day.Mrs. M. A. Sleeth is still very low, and no hopes of her recovery are entertained.Mrs. Charles Flynn is visiting relatives at iireensbnrg and Adams, Decatur county.Mrs. Amos Church died Friday, and was buried at Blue River Chapel Saturday afternoon.Alex Mellis is shipping a lot of sugar tree lumber to to Xordyke, Marmon A; Co., of Indianapolis.Checkers are the latest rage in Freeport. Alex. Mellis, Charles Flynn and Mark Davis are champions.A dance was given at Bill Rowen’s Thursday night which was well attended and quite an enjoyable affair.A dance will be given at Charley Riser’s, on Brandywine, to-night. Several boys from Freeport, will attend.John Goulding was at Freeport on the hunt of some chickens which were stolen from him some days ago. Hu thinks he is on the rigl.t track.Jake Fox, who sold his property here and went to Tipton oounty to look for a location, ha3 returned. He could not find anything in Tipton equal to Freeport.Bill Mellis is the ooss on checkers if he did net get so badly excited. While playing with Mark Davis the ether night he took Davis’ -men and jumped his own.Brick.
