This step had been contemplated for omc time, but formal ac tion was delayed until the arrival of Director Unshorn, whose return from Europe was chronicled in yesterday's Enquire*. The considerationis not yet named. This transfer will not at all interfere with the use of the rooms for Exposition purposes, or uses of that nature, for which theywere originally intended, as these reservations have been made in tlie grant to the College of Music.Letters are being received in large numbers from all parts of the country making inquiries in regard to the College of Mudc. and it is expected that the attendance will bo large. /We are informed by the officers of the College of Music that Mr. Thomas is expected to arrive in the city to-day. On and after Monday, the 7th, the business office of the College will be established at the Music Hall buildings, where Mr. Thomas, with other officers of the College, may be found during hu»ine*« hours, a id where application* can be mule bv students wishing to outer the College, aud any other information may be obtained.Signor Paolo La Villa, who is to have charge of the vocal department of the College of Music, has arrived in the city and taken quarters at the Burnet. The Signor is of high standing in Italy, and has been enticed to this country by his wife, who is an American lady with whom he became acquainted during a visit to Italy by her.
