DISCOVERED BY BOY WHO* * VLIVES IN OLD HARRISONHOMEThe old historic Harrison mansion at Vincennes is just now getting some publicity, all because Ervin Vankirk, a thirteen-year-old boy, who lives Tyith his parents in the old mansion, got interested and curious and made a discovery.This old brick structure, which was the home of General William Henry Harrison when he was a territorial governor, was built in' 1*804. It contains a number of secret rooms and tunnels which were to serve as hid-•ing places in the event of an attack by Indians. But it remained for the VanKirk boy to discover one hiding-place that others had not found.A few days ago, when reading a history of Vincennes, the VanKirk boy saw a paragraph which asserted therewas a secret room in the mansion*which had not been opened for eighty years. The history was written more than six years ago. The lad decided to find the room if possible. After questioning his parents, he was informed that they knew of only one place where it might be, and that was under the staircase, which contains no pillars, and which attracts attention from every visitor.After much search, the boy found two boards in the floor above the stairs, these bling on the second floor, j He removed these and discovered ai small room that'might be a hiding-place for ten people.
