Major Dobney lias just come from Winnipeg, whereshe recently opened a Receiving*Home for women and girls, in connection with the Salvation Army, and having experience in rescue work in Europe. Argentine and the West Indies was well versed in her subject and held the undivided attention of her audience. Miss Whiteside, lady principal of Clark Hall, Mrs. W. E. Matthews, Mrs. Bigelow, Mrs. Mac-Neill, Rev. W. E. Matthews, Magistrate Fraser and Mayor Cater all spoke of local conditions along the same line.
