Showboat Troupe To Open In City This EveningShowboat Entertainers, a tent-show attraction which advertises a policy of free admission—with charges for reserved seats—moves into Big Spring today for a week's stand, on the showgrounds on West Third. First performance is scheduled tonight at 8 o’clock, with doors opening at 7.A tent-act vaudeville show is advertised. Headline entertainers include California Rose, formerly heard on radio station KFI, Los Angeles, and billed as one of the foremost women banjo players; Billie Fitchett, piano playing eccentric billed- as The Nut,” and a member of the original Showboat cast; Veans Kirkland, blackface comedian who has appeared in movie short subjects; Zeb and Mandy, from the Hollywood Hill Billies; Capt. R. Matlock, a travelogue lecturer; and Ernest (Possum) Ltnwood, one of th** oldest active minstrel men, a pioneer in that old-time form of entertainment.
