CIRCUS HAS RECOMMENDATION FROM CIVIC HEADSFamily Circus Now on Its 49thWith the arrival In Sallisaw of Jerome Harrlman contracting agent of Cole Brothers ci^pus, arrangements have been completed with the city officials and local merchants for the parade and exhibitions of this old-time favorite In Sallisaw on October. 21.Mr. Harriman carries letters from chamber of commerce organizations mayors and city clerks of various cities where the show has exhibited this season. endorsing the entertainment of-ifered, and commenting on high-class personnel of the organization, in many instances, welcoming the show back at its earliest convenience.AHe is very emphatic in his denialthat circu parades have been abandoned, and claims that while one circus is too stingy to give a street parade, his managers have taken the opposite view and have increased the streetpageant of the 6oife fiftthers circus1 until now it is the largest-one in existence; they figure the parade is the show Window of the .exhibition* with exactly- the same object in vi£w that causes a merchant to display his wares; another object of the parade is to give joy to many poor children whose only glimpse of the world's wonders is the time-honored circus procession; all dens and cages are wide open, so that' all may see the many animals from every clime; five brass bands dispense real music, along with the largest steam callope ever constructed, while20 clowns furnish the comedy.At the circus grounds after the parade, the visitors are entertained, while waiting for the doors to open at 1:00 o’clock, after which, an inspection of the menagerie is in order; practically every known jungle animal is represented, also many denifcens of the Artie regions, the entire collection of 400 beasts being a complete education in animal land.
