Corporal Orville J. Miller is the young man and he is a brother of Mrs. Robert Smilloy of Rural Route No. 6 and of Mrs. Harry Reid of Main street this city.Orville was a member of the United Mine Workers, Local Union No. 869 and his will be the first gold star to appear on the service flag of that organization. After his family removed from this city to Des Moines he remained for some time, hut eventually left for the capital city. He however, kept up his membership in the local union and it is this union that is now-called upon to honor the memory of their first member who has gone
