SUBURBAN STARRodeo Opens In Stadium TonightMore than 250 cowboys and cowgirls will “do their stuff” for the entertainment of the thousands,who are expected to flock to the Chicago Stadium Friday night ofthis Avcek, for the opening of theten day World’s ChampionshipRodeo, when the dare-devil spirits of the cattle country, compete for $25,000 in prizes, and Championship honors.From the opening of the contest Friday night, until the final bow on Sunday night, Oct. 11, a program replete with thrilling feats of skill, has been provided for the spectators, who are expected to come from all parts of the Southwest, West, and East, for thecompetition. Canada, also, will be well represented, it is understood.Among the world’s champions who will perform are Miss Tad Lucas, lady champion trick rider of the world; Fox Hastings, noted lady bulldogger, Florence Randolph, consistant runner-up for the championship in trick riding; Dick Shelton, famous bulldogger; and other widely known rodeo contestants, among them, Chester Byers,Ted Elder, Claire Belcher, Bob Crosby, Everett Bowman, BertWeems, Buck Lucas, John Bowman, Mike Hastings, Elmer Jones,and others.The best riders, ropers and bull-doggers, in the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be present, and take part in every performance. The fact that cash prizes tot,ding $‘25,000 are to he awarded during I he course of t he ten daycontest, together with World’sChampionship honors, has drawn the cream of the rodeo field to Chicago for the meet. It is to be a contest in every sense of the word,^ and not a wild west show. Only skilled riders, ropers, and bulldog-gers will be found in the line-up of contestants, when the whistle blows for the opening performance. Performances will be given nightly at 8:15 and matinee’s on Saturday*
