A Happy Surprise.On September 19th, Samuel Hiland of Jackson township, and long a member of Larkin’s Chapel, passed his 81st mile stone. His children, relatives and neighbors met at .the church with well-filled baskets, and after all was ready Father Hiland and wife were sent for and were much surprised to find so many of their friends and relatives present. Father Hiland and wife w* re placed at the head of the table, then his children, grandchildren. aDd greatgrandchildren and relatives to the number of some fift. sat down to the table. After a blessiDg by Rev. O. C. Wilson, they were all invited to par take of asuuituous repast. Alter them the neighbors and friends helped themselves The cloth was removed and there were short speech* s, singing andprayer* by Revs. Hurt and Wilson.
