McManus has ordered the day school reopened for kindergarten through grades five on the Mesquakie Indian Reservation near Tama nolater than Oct. 31.McManus issued the ruling Monday after a conference in his chambers between attorneys of the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs and the South Tama School District.The bureau had closed the school during the summer over tribal council objections and had planned to bus some 60 students to another school.Attorneys for both sides have until February 28. 1969. to submit plans for a permanent solution to | the problem.
