It is over UO feethigh, cut from a cedar log byUichard Bonlwcll of Hartwickwho has established1 a wide reputation as a whitllcr. Each oF the designs from the (op to the bottom of the pole include Thunder-bird, Owl, Fish, Wolf, Frog, Beaver, Each has an appropriate definition of what each name means. Colors on (he pole are red. yellow, blue, green, black, gray-brown. Tools to cut the designs included broadaxe, adze, chain saw, chisels and sunders.
