The Gastonia (N. C.) GazetteSCENE FROM POTVIN EXHIBIT HERIThis scene, The Village Blacksmith,” is among the amazing wood-carving exhibits being shown on West Main avenue here. The display is located in the vacant building formerly occupied by the Peggy Ann Shop It features scenes carved out of wood by Moise Potvln. This particular scene is mechanized, as are several others, and the two old gentlemen in the foreground pound their fists on the table during their checker game. The exhibit Vs being sponsored by Gastonia firemen with proceeds going to their retirement fund. No admission is charged but donations are accepted. ‘Photo by Ennis Atkins)
