From the front door one enters a vestibule,, with tilei floor and walls finished ink .narbleized tile effect, passing from j \ this vestibule directly into the lounge, This room extends across the front of the house and has exactly the di-,j mensions of the lounge in the old club house, so that the builders were able to use the walls and ceiling of this room practically as it was. The walls jc are cream and the woodwork is wai-! I nut. The beams that were in the original clubhouse are preserved in the ceiling. Fire - places at either end make this long room delightfully coxy. The mantels are of cream pressed brick and it i8 interesting 10 note that the Grecian plaque which was above the mantel in the original room was preserved from the fire, and has been duplicated, so that the two mantels are exactly alike. The duplicate plaque was presented to the ^ j ciub by Mr. Martin L, Hampton.From the lounge one may go directly into the club assembly room, a room 47x22 feet, which runs the length of the building and will seat 225 to 250 people. The floor of the lounge is elevated slightly over the assembly room, i creating a small stage in that end of 1; the lounge, adjacent to the assembly *! room, and making it very convenient for a speaker to address an audier.ee! in the assembly room, jThe walls and woodwork of the assembly room are finished in four tones of brown, with the walls in panel effect. Casement windows are alongc9Iyi[1rVone side of the room and at the rear French doors lead to a small open porch. This porch has been built around the trunk of a pecan tree which stood in the rear of the club building, so that the tree will form ashady roof over the porch in summer.
