Structure Now Nearing Completion Represents a Pine Piece of Work on ,the Part of the S tales vtllce Woman's Club — Nearly as Possible it is a 100 Per Cent. Statesville Product.The new Woman’s Club on West End Avenue, now nearing completion, represents a fine piece of work On the part of club members, officers and particularly on the part of the club's president, Mrs. E. M. Land. When the club home that the organization had bought some six months previouslywas destroyed by fire last winter thepresident urged the club to look upon ilisappointments and discouragements “as a test of character and club loyalty and face the new club year with renewed determination to carry on hat we may see the fulfillment of ourhopes.” And the organization is carrying on — the new home stands as proof of that. The building is one of which the entire community may be proud. It is to be the home of one )f the outstanding women's organizations of Statesville, whose purpose as expressed in its constitution is to ‘‘stimulate, awaken and promote the educational, literary, domestic and civic betterment of the city, and to “foster a generous public spirit. As the home of this organization, whose membership is made up of more than two hundred women of the community, it will be one of the chief centersof community interest,As nearly as it has ben possible we have endeavored to make the Woman's Club home a 100 per cent. Statesville product, said Mrs. E. M. Land, the club's president.
