The people were ve ry ho pi-table and they knew how to cook. Wo had excellent food all the time we were in Mobile. Most of our meals were lt;afen in the Murphy High School cafeteria.The convention opened Thursday morning. We* registered, got ac-pu tinted, had i.ur pictures taken.( went. to town, h**ld assembly, and ate lunch at the (afctcria. That afternoon we held discussion croups and exchanged ideas on all different phase*, of student government Ithink we got some very good ideas which should help us to develop our council and our school into a more unified body. After our discussions, 12 school busses took group of de-De te on a tour of the town. We went out to the Alabama drv docks and ih roue h» the .-round, of Spring -hill College. IVIohde is a beautiful town, but ot course, like all other towns, it has r slum sections. That night we had a fish try and an informal par»y. which were a lot of fun. We met many delegates fromthe Southern states and enjoyed F \cry much. When we wen* introduced to del'watc ,, the fir: ’ thing we ♦old them was that we arc from Texas. Tex a had as many delegate as any two other .states put together.Friday w *s much the same a 'Ihursdsv. Noconi came into view about 11 or 12 o'clock. Wlt; were allfind, sleepy, and glad to be homo.We had a wondt rful time and wish that more of our student, body could have been with us.* yRodeoAi Sain! Dr Moore was our speaker again, and she spoke* on ‘ Have We Got What It Takes?” SheS a wonderful speaker, and I don’t see how anyone could have sat in that ball room wit horn listening to her every word. After the banquet, tin* tables were cleared from tla room and a formal I dance took place. They had a very good archestra.Saturday morning, we ficers for next year's land also selected the location for jit. Charleston. West Virginia, was chosen ver Shreveport. La. Rich a hoot w m allowed to cast only 3 votes and each school said some* (thing good about their town when j hey rose* to announce their vote*.Kent -ast our votes in tins man-•iei : “Nocona High School. Nocona.Texas, Cowboy Boot Capitol of the* World, easts three votes for Charleston, W. Va.” We Nocona delegate's were m a speech making mood Saturday anyway. I'll bet there lew people at the convention wt*ren t well a ware* oi the fact our Indians defeated Decatur Frida \ night.We left Mobile about 2 o’clock after traveling through the tunnel. We wlt; re glad to be heading back to Texas, yet we were sorry te be* leaving Mobile and all the* wonderful friends we had made there.We* spent the night in Jackson. Miss.
