“Voice of Turtle Cast Arrives For Play at Memorial Hall Tonighti5.'Cast of ‘ The Voice of the Turtle” arrived in Joplin this afternoon from Tulsa for a performance at 8:20 o’clock tonight at Memorial hall of the famous John van Druten play. jSince its opening on Broadway four years ago, “The Voice of the Turtle,” an Alfred de Liagre production, has made theatrical history. John Beal, known to Joplin friends as Alex Bliedung, has the male role in the three-character comedy which is playing to New York audiences for its fourth sue-, eessful year. The company to vi it Joplin is one of three concurrently appearing in various parts of the country. A motion picture is to be made of the play early next year.“The Voice of the Turtle” presents a universally appealing lovestory. Its theme is taken from the Songs of Solomon, referring to the. coming of better times.
