Thomas Aquinas eachjilaced two men on the team. Each of Central’s 10 opponents was represented. The selections follow: STEUBENVILLE BUG RED: Blt;d Snyder and Ron Runkle,WINTERSVILLE: Larry Kettlewell and Jeff Saunders.LOUISVILLE St. Thomas Aquinas: Sam Phebe and Ernie Cambone.CARROLLTONs Ron Prichard.BROOKE: Richie Thomaselli.EAST LIVERPOOL: Bob Blankenship.WARREN J.F.K.: Mike Vitola. 1 'WEIRTON MADONNA: Mike DeSantis.YOUNGSTOWN NORTH: Bob CharityYOUNGSTOWN EAST: Sylvester Hall.Ill Pint Downs The Crusaders, who finished the season with a sweep of six straight games to barely miss a place in the Ohio Class “AA” championship playoffs, accumulated 113 first downs to 79 for their opponents in an M season. Central averaged 11.3 first downs per game to 7.9 for their opponents.Central had a rushing average of 199.8 and a passing average of 41.4 to 74.6 and 39.2 for opponents.They scored an average of 11,4 points per game to 7,4 for opponents. They were Penalised 54 times for 189 yards to 47 times and 32? yards for opponents.Reno DICarlantonio, 170-pound senior halfback, was the leading scorer with 46 points. He was followed by Vincertt D’Ortenzio,who kicked 12 extra points and three field goals for 21 points, K. C. Fredley, who scored three touchdowns tor 16 points, Joe Carroeei, who scored two for 12 points and John Miccile, Mark Dugan and Rich DeStefanis, who scored oneDtCarlantonio LeadsDICarlantonio also led in yardage with 1,0® yards in 171 carries for a 6.2 average. John Miccile was next with 336 in 101 carries, followed by Joe Carocci, 26—207; K. C. Fredley, 56-—154 and Bob Petrella, 16—77.Joe Corsi completed 22 of 39passes for 263 yards and K. C. Fredley 11 of 29 for 161 yards, Corsi is a sophomore.Anthony Vend led in recap* tions with 12 for 133 yards, DiCarlantonio had eight tor 166.Bob Petrella led in tackles with 65. He also had 96 assists and recovered four fumbles. Tom Dugan had 42 tackles and 27 assists add recovered three fumbles, Mike Giovannone and K. C. Fredley each had 40 tackles.
