♦Emalee Earon to Sing RecitalDec.at Price AuditoriumThe Lock Haven Music Club will present Emalee Earon Thompson, noted American contralto, in recital in Price auditorium, Lock Haven State College, Sunday afternoon, Dec. 3, at 3 o'clock.HillMiss Earon, a native of Lock Haven, is a member of the Suburban Opera Company of Philadelphia. She has won many awards and scholarships, including one offered by the American Federation of Music Clubs, the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts Award, and a scholarship from the Philadelphia Academy of Vocal Arts.She has appeared as soloist for leading symphony orchestras in the New York and Philadelphia areas, and has sung important roles with the Chicago Lyric Opera Company, and the Philadelphia Grand Opera Company.In the spring she will sing the role of Nikolaus in “The Tales of Hoffman'' with the Suburban Opera Company, and a role in “Cavalleria Rusticana” with theMan on Probationin Coed's DeathSELINSGROVE, Pa. Highland St.. have completed eight weeks of recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, S.C.They will now undergo from two to four weeks of individualnewly-formed Chestnut Opera Company.She had the distinction of singing the leading role in the world premiere performance of “The Trojan Women.”In her recital in Lock Haven, she will be accompanied by the composer of the score of the latter opera, Miss Margaret Garwood.Miss Earon's program in Lock Haven will include numbers by Respighi, the aria from “Samson and Delilah,” and the brilliant “Sequedille” from Bizet's “Carmen.” This will be a bene-! fit performance sponsored by Ithe Lock Haven Music Club in• ibehalf of its music scholarship fund. A silver offering will be taken.Miss Earon herself was the beneficiary of awards offered by the Lock Haven Music Club. She was a vocal student of Miss Alice Seiver of Lock Haven. Later she studied in New York at the Julliard School of Music, in Paris with Pierre Bernac, and in Philadelphia at the Academy of Vocal Arts.Miss Earon is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Donald Earon of 220 W. Church St. in Lock Haven.EARON RECITAL DEC. 3 — Emalee Earon Thompson, contralto, will appear in a recital in Price auditorium, Lock Haven State College, on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. under the sponsorship of the Lock Haven Music Club, as a benefit for its scholarship fund. Miss Earon is a former recipient of a Lock Haven Music Club award. A professional singer in Philadelphia, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Donald Earon of Lock Haven.
