Her husband, Frank Otto, went to Chicago from Michigan City Wednesday,Nov.l3 in quest of work. Sunday his wife received a letter from him saying she had better come on with the children. He was to meet her on her arrival.Tuesday morning she bundled up the four children—Lottie, Henry, Frances and Thomas—and, with a small basket containing the family’s wardrobe, boarded a Michigan Central train for Chicago. On arrival there she waited seven hours at the depot, but the husband failed to put in «r appearance. She and the children were then-taken to the. police station.Sergeant Danahy remembered that a man who said his name was Frank Otto had applied for lodging Saturday night He was from Michigan City, he said, and had written tor'bls wife to come to Chicago. The register bf the municipal lodging house showed that he had stayed there the night before, but did not return last night.Five dollars and 10 cents is all the money I have in the world,” said Mrs. Otto, as she gazed fondly at her little brood.
