City Only One In WisconsinWhereStudents Registered Gas ApplicantsinLa Crosse was the only city the state, and. as far as is known, the only one in the midwest thatdepended upon its high school seniors to register the more than 8.000 applicants for “A” gasoline ration books, it was disclosed Thursday by Superintendent of Schools R. W. Bardwell.As a consequence of the use of senior students. La Crosse public schools were among the few’ schools in the midwest that did not close down during the first two days of the rationing period.By using the senior students. Supt.
