But as everyone now knows, Newburgh won, 18-13, and with that victory appeared well on its way to the title.Along came Port Jervis last week and now Port’s on top, needing only a victory over Middletown to win the title that New-burgh had apparently locked up a month before.But with that victory came an-other opportunity for Middletown. Granted, the Blue and White can’t win the title outright. If Newburgh beats Kingston, and the Middies can upset Port, the league title will be shared by Middletown, Newburgh and Port.But at least it gives the Middies a shot at a title tie, something they couldn't have gotten without Port upsetting Newburgh. Now, Brunner and his coaching staff have something more to shoot for than Just a victory over arch-rival Port.Along the way, another battle has come along, the fight for the scoring title. For the present, Middletown’s Jon George is in the leading with 30 points. He also has scored the most touchdowns, five.Close behind is the Port Jervis mighty mite, John Bell, who has scored four touchdowns lor 24 points.
