On Friday, November 14, Mr. Edie had a birthday and though 90 years old was able to mingle with the more than three score persons, mostly his own descendants, who had gathered to make the day memorable.Sixty-three years ago, in other words, in the year 1856, Mr. and Mrs. Edie came with their children born to them up to that time and settled on the farm where the celebration was held on last Friday, For sixty-three years he has dwelt on that farm and with him until a year ago or little more his helpmeet, dwelt with him when death called her.Mr. Edie is a native of Ohio and came from that state to Mills county. Ten living children are yet happy in their regard for an honored father.
