The girls came home with a second place trophy.Monday of last week the men of the Driscoll Adult Sports Association challenged a group of men from Bishop to play volleyball. The visitors won three to Driscoll’s one. Also on Tuesday, the Sport Association played the faculty from Bishop schools. Both teams played excellent games and enjoyed the evening.The Woman’s Society of Christian Service met at the home of Mrs. Claude Denton Jr. Tuesday Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. The regular business meeting was preceded by a covered dish dinner honoring Mrs. Nina Durham, a charter member, who will be moving to her new home in Austin. The club presented Mrs. Durham with an engraved silver bon-bori dish as a farewell gift.The business meeting was conducted by president Georgia Chamberlain. Dates were set for two work nights to make favors for food trays to be used in several area hospitals and nursing homes during the Christmas holiday season. These dates were Tuesdays,Nov. 14 and 21. Plans were madeto make and distribute homemade cookies for shut-ins.
