She is an applied arts major at Tech, is 5 feet 6 and weighs 118 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes.During high school days, she was selected as a high school beauty, was runnerup in a Miss Flame Contest,” was a member of the Student Council, Dramatic and Speakers Clubs, a cheerleader, a member of the Good Scholarship Club and queen of a fire station in Dallas. In college, she is a helper in the dean's office, a pledge of Kappa Alpha Theta and was a finalist in the Rose of Delta Sig contest.Miss Barney is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Barney of Amarillo.
