E. Leavitt, who now resides at Harri-man, Tenn., and who recently visited the scenes of his boyhood in Jen nings County. Mr. Leavitt presented the picture to W. A. Guthrie, chairman, of the state board of conservation, and Mr. Guthrie, believing that the picture would be of interest to the visitors at the park sent it to the inn.The picture is a beautiful scene showing the old mill at the top of the bluff, with many of Its timbersits. | torn away. Mr. Leavitt further wrote, “I wish you could grow the laurel, rhododendron, azaleas and trailing arbutus in the Vine gar Mill park but the presence of much lime in the soil is fatal to them.
