Reading Room Benefit. The management of the reading room have made arrangements with Mr. Wm. Pittinger to deliver his renowned lecture, •‘Locomotive Chase in Georgia” cm Dee. 5th, Thursdayevening. It is a treat to read of this, perhaps most heroic and daringact of the late war, but to hear it de-r scribed by one who took part and the only survivor, must indeed be thrilling. The daring act of stealing or taking possession of the engine, the chase arid capture, the imprisonment and death of most, if not all but Mr. Pittinger. Altogether it will be a treat to South Riversiders, and perhaps the only chance many will ever have to hear the story direct from one who took an active part in the act. The lecture is solely for the benefit of the reading room, and i-t is hoped that the Baptist church will be^'full to overflowing. Don’t forget the date, Dee. 5th. Admission 25 cents, children, 15 cents. Tickets on sale at Barth Mnc-Gillivravl A. B. Caldwell, Glass andmr ’Son and at the reading room.
