“Kiss” Rocks ’n Rollsby Fred WolzThey burst out with a flaming start with their first album, “Kiss,” some months ago. Now they are ‘‘Hotter than Hell” and by the way, that is the name of their new album.Kiss is a band from Brooklyn that produces “thunderock” sounds. Their new album produces steady stompin’ solid rock’n’roll. The album starts out in a heavy coming-at-cha solid forcefulness with “Got to Choose.” It displays the lead guitar talents of Ace Frehley.Kiss comes crashing down on you with “Parasite” and keeps pounding at your skull all the way through side one to “Let Me Go, Rock’n Roll.” Peter Criss keeps you rockin’ with his superb drumming in ‘ ‘Hotter than Hell,” while Paul Stanley’s rhythm guitar keeps barking out the coarse chords that make up the foundation of Kiss’s material.Side Two keeps you high with “All the Way” and “Watching You.” “Mainline?” keeps you dancingor stompin’ your feet (or whatever your bag is) with a touch of “RodSteward’’ voice by Paul Stanley. The album is filled with other rockers such as “Goin’ Blind,” Strange Ways,” and “Cornin’ Home.”They are a new band but give them time and they will prove there is no lack of rookie talent in this year’s heavy metal rock’n’roll. Their new album is tight and takes you through an electrical storm of solid craftsmanship and sound. Don’t refuse, you got nothin’ to lose!
