Justice Samuel Bracken, whose farm is located near Taswell, Crawford county claims to have raised the biggest crops of corn and potatoes to the acre of any farmer in Indiana. He had five acres measured off by the county surveyor and claims that these five acres produced 615 bushels, of corn, or 123 bushels to the acre. On one acre of ground, also measured by the surveyor, he claims to have grown 494 bushels of Burbank potatoes. The ground is richjcreek bottom and fertilizers were liberally used to add to its productiveness. Nevertheless, the Ledqer must say that it 44will await further developments’1 before swallowing this crop story.
