Members of the winningband are Don Moles, lead guitar; Mike Edwards,rhythm guitar; Hugh Pollack, bass guitar, and Tommy Helwagen, drums.Other bands were We Fourthe Agents, andmats.competingand Him, the Diplo-According to Mr. and Mrs. Phil Phillips, who built the Sugar Shack in 1964, the battle of the bands is Just one of many special features the Shack has offered its teen customers.Another recent highlightat the Sunday afternoon hop was a performance by the McCoys who, at the time of their appearance were first on the national hit parade with their record “Hang on Sloopy.The Phillipses say their venture for the teens isnot as profitable as they hadhoped but they are reluctant to close the Shack because their association with thisage group “has been troublefree and lots of fun.
