MThe Free Reading Rooin was opened to 1 ^ the public lat, Monday evening and a ’ number of the ladies of the town spent the day in decorating the room and preparing for the o\rstcr supper which thee gave in the evening. The supper was .largely attended and was a grand success. The oysters were prepared^ in several wavs and were delicious when ' d■K’served with such an abundance of sand-1 a wiches, cake, pickles coffee, etc. The net proceeds of the supper amounted to! $35,00. ‘ |lThe reading.room which is located in tthe Vogel building is a nice lame roomy I I’O • . •. ‘77 * -place with plenty of light and is well i 1 furnished with chairs and tables.
