Quite a number of the members of the new band are experienced musicians and the others are rapidly developing, and will be in readiness by next season to fill engagements. The membership of the band at present and the division of instruments is as follows:Cornet—Wm. J. Gantter, leader, Oral Smith, Theo. Heegeman and John Brouchek; Clarinet—Thos. Murphy, Jos. Kuchelmeister, Lawrence McDaniel; Baritone—Harry Fellows; Trombone—Ben Hurkman Chas. Lowery; Alto—Henry Wag-nitz, Steve Dietzler, Geo. Heegeman; Bb Bass—Joe Zink; Tuba—Dan Johnson; Snare Drum—Carl Kepp-ner; Bass Drum—Jule Lindemuth. The boys have now reached the stage where they desire to start a fund for the purchase of* new music, uniforms, etc., and will give a benefit dance at Heindel’s hall, Thursday evening, November 16, and hope to sell a goodly number of tickets, thus giving the people who wish to encourage their organization an opportunity so to do by purchasing one or more tickets. The tickets are 75 cents per couple. An eight piece orchestra will furnish the music for the dance. If you enjoy a good time buy a ticket and attend the ball, but if you don’t why buy a ticket anyway and then listen to the band later on, for the boys will be in readiness for street concerts by next summer.
