A Plonoer Resident of This County la Called to tho Land of EternalHeat.Mrs, O. W. Rosa, one of the oldest and most honored ladies of the city, died at an early boor this morning, at her home on South Washington street. Mrs. Rose had been an invalid for the past nine years, painfully afflicted with paralysis of the muscles of the body, though until her death remained clear in intellect. Her maiden name was Nancy Slater and she was born at Somerset, Pa , eighty-one years ago. When abont four years of age she removed with her parents, the late John Slater and wife, to this county, they being among the earliest settlers in this part of the state. In the year of 1847 the deceased was married to Judge Obadiah W. Rose and to them was born three children, Orlando, Maude and Ora, the last of whom survives her. There are also two sisters of Mrs. Rose still living, Mr*. R. Ccnn, of West Crawford street, and Mrs. Jane McQongh, of Rockford. The funeral services will he conductedat the home, 700 South Washington street, Friday afternoon, at two j o’clock, by Mrs. M. Kline, of the lccal society of the Christian Spiritualists, assisted by Rev. Fred Dunakin, of Cecil. The burial will occur at Woodland.
