Manager is named forWEOL, WBEAELYRIA — Effective Dec 1, Gary L Kneisley will become general manager of radio stations WEOL and WBEA FMof Elyria succeeding Paul Nakel who will retire to Arizona about the end of the year0 B Schoepfle, president of Elyria Lorain Broadcasting Co , announced the appointment of Kneisley, general manager of radio station WQLS in Fames-villeKneisley was raised in Pai-nesville and graduated from Ohio University, majoring in radio and television broadcasting He has spent 23 years with WQLS, formerly WPVL as announcer, program director station manager and general managerHE WAS instrumental in establishing simulcast radio and television election coverage for Lake County through a cooperative venture, including two cable TV systems, the Lakeland Com munity College Cable Network and the radio stationIn 1978, he received the Certificate of Broadcasting Excellence from the Radio Ttle vision Commission of thp South ern Baptist Convention This year, he was named Citizen of the Year by the Painesville Area Chamber of Commerce“It will be difficult leavingLake County, but the challenge and opportunity of serving WEOL and WBEA and the Lorain County marketplace is very appealing,” said Kneisley “These outstanding stations are known in the industry for their excellence, and I am proud to become a part of them ” Kneisley, his wife, Sally, and their children will move toLorain County m the near future
