There won’t be any penalty. It’s just something that Coach John Madden had up his sleeve in an effort tokeep his Raiders’ seven-game winning streak alive.Madden says other teams are catching on to his multiple-de-fense system that has bewildered passers. He contends the opposition can now decipher the system by checking which 11 men the Raiders had in the huddle. The solution: a 14-manhuddle until just before the ball is snapped.“If we are going into an orange defense (three-man rush), three men run off the field when our defensive huddle breaks,” Fadden explained.Even without that, the Raiders’ defense has been confusing enough and Lions’ quarterback Bill Munson, an 11-year veteran, will have to contend wih the five or six defensive backs covering his receivers. But Detroit Coach Rick For-zano has been capable of a trick or two himself. He already has performed magic by leading the Lions to four straight victories after opening the year with four straight losses. The Lions trail Minnesota by two games in the NFC Central Division. In the game against Green Bay. Forzano established himself as a leading NFL trickster. With the Lions trailing 21-19, Munson used a Forzano-de-signed play that almost won theballgame. With 57 seconds remaining, Munson bent over as if to tie his shoelaces as the other Lions assumed stationary and legal positions. Munson suddenly picked up the ball and lateraled to Altie Taylor who got 27 yards. The Lions then missed a long field goal and a chance to win the game, however. But Detroit will have more than trickery to rely on. The 33-year-old Munson is having one of his best years, successfully finding such choice receivers as tight-end Charlie Sanders and wide receivers Larry Walton and Ron Jessie. They also have a respectable defense, small but quick.“Thpv a rp u phnraincr art.On their thrill-of-a-lifetime trip to state the Hurley representatives got an enthusiastic sendoff by parents and friends at noon yesterday when they left by bus from the J.E. Murphy High School. They were to be quartered at the Holiday near Appleton.
