The fete was given by the members of the Anna BmkhaJter guild and was under the direction of the president of. the gu Eld,. Mrs. Frank McAJlister, who with her assistants arid committees, worked ao hard to make the fete a reality.- •Through .the courtesy of the Den-ccke, Martin and ICillian edmpsCniea, tno decorations were the most complete and elaborate for an affair of this kind. The tea roam had a large Japanese umbrella over the table, from which there were varl-colored lanterns strung. . These were entwined with cherry blossom s. Cherry blossoms were in the windows, they draped the fireplace and walls, they were In vases find wicker baskets and. over the wall lights. There , were smaller lanterns anil umbrellas extending from the aides of the large umbrellas. .Lanterns /were In the doorway*? and at-the entrance to the chapol. In' each corner of the ~ tea room was a screen draped with the pink hlooms. The tea table was cov. ered with an exquisite Japanese*1 and dr awn clbth and. with its silver service and burning Incense was. lovely and inviting.
