Mantel! and Miss Genevieve Hamper appear In them adds somethin* to their immortality.Appearing Friday night at the Orpheum in “Macbeth Mr. Mantell and Mlsa Hamper especially held their audtence. Both were so skilled In their characters that they were called before the curtain at the end of every scene. Miss Minpcr as Lady Macbeth, perhaps with the famous sleep-luking scene. Both were so thorough and sincere in their parts that the audience forgot twentieth century customs and were carried back three centuries.Tho various witch scenes were among the most convincing of the evening, and it was with ease that one found ones' self bclleveing in superstitious ccremonies.Jaines Neill, Jr., as McDuff, and Harry Sothern, in the character of the intoxicated porter and as one of the three witches, deserve especial mention.The house was fairly well filled,and ivaj» a better representationthan has formerly characterized the attendance of Lincoln theater-goers at Shakespearean presentations.
