other nations coming here toLocal combo signs contractAnother Kokomo combo makes good! “The Mogan Davids and the Grapes of Wrath,” have just been presented with a recording contract from Cha-Cha Records, Inc . of Chicago.Members of the band are Kokomo teens Ron Sims, 17, lead guitar; Fred Murphy, 15 rhythm guitar; Mike Summers, 16, bass guitar; and Tipton guys Hal Landseadel, 18 drums; and Steve Fuller, 22 vocalist.Fred, Mike and Hal are still attending high school, while Ronand Steve are employed at the Kokomo Morning Times.In two weeks the “M.D.’s, and the G’s, of W.” will be journeying to Chicago where they will be cutting their own compositions, “Jack and Jill,” composed and written by Fred Murphy and Steve Fuller, and “Little Girl Gone,” composed and written by Ron Sims and Steve Fuller.Ten per cent of their first release records will be distributed to D.J.’s throughout the country, while the royalties on the other ninety per cent will be paid to the band.
