The Chamber of Commerce spon- j sored a fish fry and dance in; the Assembly Hull to entertain committee members of the Grape Harvest Festival.Mr. and Mrs. Roy Webster of the Webster Winery and Castle Inn entertained their “grape pick- | ers at Castle Inn Thursday night with a potluck dinner aid dance party. Magician Walter Laskow-ski and Mrs. Laskowski, vocalists, entertained the crowd. The former vaudevillians are owrner3 of Friendly Inn at Put-in-Bay.Guests at this party include Mr. and Mrs. Otto Krohn, Mr. andMrs. Paul Webster, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Webster, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lunt, Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Woischke, Mr. and Mrs. K. Fox, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Bretz, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Kindt, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Laskowski, Mrs. Johanna Sampson, F.mil Weisler and George Stoecker.Saturday evening, the K K Winery, with Alfred Parker as it* Put-in-Bay manager, held a simi-! lar party in the Town hall when 50 guests enjoyed the dance and refreshments.These “grape picker” parties are annual events with owners ofwineries serving as hosts. All the grapes have been harvested and the island’s grape presses are about ready to be placed in storage for another year. The grape crop was unusually heavy this ear but the harvest was finished in record time.
