dent occurred Aug. 19.Elephant Stricken ■ With RheumatismCHICAGO, Nov. 4.—(IP)—Nlz-ie's got the rheumatism and he's so helpless it takes a three-ton chain tackle and a sling to put him on his feet.The unusual part about that is that Nizie is an elephant and so far as anyone knows it's the first time rheumatism ever got an elephant down.A famous bone specialist and several veterinarians were called in on the case and said Nizie would die. But his keeper Harvey Carlisle, who looks after his wants in the elephant’s quarters in a warm corner of the electrical department building in Lincoln park, is hopeful.Besides taking to violet-rav and sun-rav treatments with all the enthusiasm an elechant's capable or, Carlisle said Nizie takes his codliver oil daily, has | regained his appetite and isfree of pain.
