Mrs, Leonidas Hubbard, both of New York, started ou rival expeditions to carry on exploration work in far Labrador, in prosecution of which Leonidas Hubbard, formerly a well-known Detroit newspaper man, perished previously. A. R. Burgess, customs officer at Rigiolette, Labrador, has reached Halifax and said:I believe Wallace’s expedition is a failure and that possibly the members of his party may have met the fate that overtook poor Hubbard. On the other hand. It. seems as if Mrs. Hubbard and her party have reached tbeir destination.’*Burgees added that when -he left Northwest river Indians had informed him that Mrs. Hubbard was at Uagava Bay, 170 miles distant from the objective point of her expedition.
