It deals with a father s reaction—and subsequent action '—when he learns that his daughter and son-in-law intend to deliver his first grandchild themselves.The cast of six includes Dr. Allen Brailey as the father. Laurie Wetzsteon and Lowell Fiet as his daughter and son-in-law, and Dr. Bill Gallagher as the obstetrician. Supporting roles are filled by Daryl Wed-wick as a lawyer and Robert Mayer as a magazine fiction editor.| In January, Community Theater players will take the stage in “The Odd Couple” by Neil Simon. Comedy buffs will find the production wildly and continuously funny as a nervous, meticulous man, separated from his wife, elects to share an apartment with a slovenly bachelor.Performances are scheduled for Jan. 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25 and 26.Edward Albee won the Pulitzer Prize for his searching drama, “A Delicate Balance,” the Community Theater’s March production.March 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22 and 23 have been set as performance dates.The hit musical “The Music Man” opens in May—La Crosse Community Theater’s final production of the season.The lead character is Harold Hill, a traveling salesman who can’t read music or play an instrument, but is nonetheless the best instrument salesman to hit the midwest.“The Music Man,” which originally starred Robert Preston, will be performed May 22, 23,24 , 25, 29, 30, 31 and June 1.“There is a need,” said managing director John Brown, “for many more persons to participate in all phases of theater operation, not only as actors but also in backstage work ... costumes, properties, lighting and especially set design and construction.“The only universal prerequisite for participation in a Community Theater production is a willingness to work.”Matinee and evening performances are scheduled for Saturdays during each play’s run.
