Peak Island at last, has Sebago water for domestic and lire 'protection .purposes. The population is jubilant and will :have a big celebration to commemorate, their triumph-o ver great obstacles.Water from artesian wellg was furnished by the Peak Island Corporation, which took over the plant established, by Edgar E. Rounds, by. purchase several years ago. It has not been a profitable venture and the samo holds true of the gas manufacturing and distributing end of . tjie business. Things ,nave .gone from bad to worse and the limited patronage possible has forbidden expansion to put the business on a substantial basis. Appeal to the Public Utilities Commission by gasusers and water takers hag been a subject of agitation for months, and now the citizens are assured of just as goonwater as city people on. the mainland enjoy.
