Duff Franklin Lewis, 59, a former Whitesboro resident, died in a Clovis. N. M., hospital late Thursday. May 14. He had been ill five days.Funeral services were conducted for him at the Richards-Beck Chapel the following Sunday afternoon. Rev. Foy Thomas, Metn-odist minister, officiated.Pallbearers were Sloan Baker, R. R. Mikeska, Fred Williams, Bailey Faulkner, Earnest Barnes and Lloyd Boston.Burial was in the Whitesborocemetery.He was bom September 9, 1904, at Bells, Tex., the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Lewis. He was a bootmaker.Survivors include his wife, Mrs.Opal Fitzgerald Lewis, of Clovis; i wo sons including Wilford Lewis of Roswell, N. M.; three daughters, Mrs. Hettie M. Brown of Ogden, Utah. Mrs. Dell Motley of Nocona and Mrs. Nellie Northam of Roswell.Also, a brother, Ted Lewis, of Gainesville; four sisters, Mrs. Denver Burba of Hawaii, Mrs.Jack Capehart of Whitesboro, Mrs. Oscar Randles of Sherman and Mrs. Malry Strong of Whitesboro; 16 grandchildren and threegreat-grandchildren.
