Michael and John) who emigrated from Holland to New Jersey.By 1725, they had moved to Virginia (now West Virginia) and settled near Romney and Shepherds-town—the first settlers there.John Blue, the American progenitor of the Van Wert Countians, was born in Holland in 1713 and died in West Virginia in 1791. At least three of his sons served in the American Revolution, later settling in southwestern Ohio.One of them, Uriah Blue, was born in Hampshire County, West Va., August 8. 1752. and died in Ohio in 1817 where he was buried on his own farm.Uriah's granddaughter married Andrew Ralston.Among the allied families are Swick, Hittle, Buschor, Coon, and Moreo.JS. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur A Hitchcock, RFD 4, Cridersville Branch, Lima, former residents of Van Wert, has announced the engagements and approaching marriage of their daughter, Anita Mae, to Ward Franklin Mowery, son of Mrs. W. J. Mowery and the late Mr. Mowery, RFD 1, Coshocton. Miss Hitchcock, a 1958 graduate of Bath Township High School, is a sophomore in the school of music at Ohio State University. She is secretary of the OSU symphonic choir, vice president of the Davisson-Hanley Alumnae Scholarship House, member of the opera workshop and Delta Omicron. Mr. Mowery, a graduate of Warsaw High School, has served three years in the U. S. Navy and in the Navy Band He is a sophomore in the school of music at OSU, member of the OSU symphonic concert band, jazz forum. Phi Delta Theta, and the Masons The ceremony will take place at 2 p. m. June 12, in the Grace Methodist Church, Lima.
